Broad Peak, my first successfull 8000 meter peak

My first Himalayan 8000 meter experience was on Dhaulagiri where I reached 7800 meters in an alpine style attempt. That convinced me that I was capable of doing 8000 meter summits.

The Broad Peak, 8047 meter, expedition was from the beginning planned as an alpine style expedition and it was the smallest Himalayan expedition I had participated in. We were successfull in putting two climbers on the summit, Jan Mathorne and I.

We gained a lot of experience and had a really enjoyable time in the Karakoram region of the Himalayas, situated in the Northeastern part of Pakistan very close to K2, the worlds second highest and probably amongst the most difficult.... and my dream mountain as you can see from the name of my company, K2 adventure.
